Milo and June and the Ten Wandering Lights

The second journey · a dream adventure

A week after their first dream, Milo and June lie on the same blanket — but this time they watch for the stars that move. The Sky-Keeper is waiting with an empty glass lantern. On the first journey the children met the signs, the how. Tonight they will meet the what: the ten wanderers of a birth chart, from the shining Sun to tiny, shy Pluto. Each one drops a little light into the lantern, and each one has a real sky fact to share.

Ten short chapters, one wanderer each: the Sun, the Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. Every chapter pairs a sky fact (real astronomy) with an astrology idea (what the tradition says it stands for), and ties each planet back to the friends from Book 1 — because in astrology, every planet is a “helper” of a sign. It ends with a match-up activity and a night-sky challenge.

For grown-ups. The book keeps astronomy and astrology side by side and clearly labelled: each chapter's Sky fact is observable science (the Sun is a star; Uranus spins on its side; Pluto has been called a dwarf planet since 2006), and each Astrology idea is what the Western tradition holds symbolically. Where astrologers disagree — the “modern” rulers Uranus, Neptune and Pluto — the story says so. Nothing in it is a claim about who a child is or will become.

Try this tonight

On a clear night, look for a bright “star” that doesn't twinkle. It might be a planet! A grown-up can help you check with a sky app.

Which planet would you most like to visit, and why?
