Astrid Garcia
Storyteller, maker, and the owner of Sage Green Shop.
Astrid Garcia writes and illustrates the Milo and June books from Central Florida, where she also runs Sage Green Shop — a small, handmade shop of ritual body oils, soaps, crystals and card decks with a simple motto: gifts that spread love.
The shop has always had two sides — a warm, family-friendly one and a thoughtful, practitioner one — and the books grew out of the first. Astrid wanted a way to share the twelve signs of the zodiac with children as what they are: an old, beautiful tradition full of characters, not a set of labels. So Milo and June don't get told who they are. They walk the circle, meet each friend, and decide for themselves where they feel at home.
Every book in the series carries the same small promise on its first page: Astrology is an old tradition. Astronomy is the science of space. Both start with looking up!
Why this series?
One idea per page
Short chapters, one friend at a time, with a star lesson to hold on to. Easy to read in one sitting — or one chapter a night.
Welcoming to everyone
There are no "good" or "bad" signs in the circle. Every friend gives a star, and every village is a home.
Made to be read together
The Star Passport and the "Finding your house" page invite kids to ask their grown-ups questions — like what time they were born.
